Good processability with LPBF
It is produced without the alloying element Nickel. Consequently, the safety regulations during powder processing are significantly reduced.
Significantly increased yield strength, tensile strength, and hardness compared to typical austenitic steels.
High corrosion resistance (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number) PREN = 36 compared to typical austenitic steels (316L = 28).
High work hardening tendency.
High cavitation resistance.
Subsequent heat treatment can increase its toughness.
Wide range of applications in mechanical engineering, e.g., food and chemical industry, pump components, power generation industry, or the automotive industry.
