Printdur® Powderfort

Powders for Additive Manufacturing:
Printdur® Powderfort

Nickel Alloy for Corrosion and High-Temperature Applications

Introduction to Printdur® Powders

Additive manufacturing powders supplied by Deutsche Edelstahlwerke, of which we are the Italian partner, are essential for producing components and mold inserts using technologies such as Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) and Direct Metal Deposition (DMD). These materials, selected for their specific particle size distribution, optimize various 3D printing applications.

Printdur® Powderfort Features

Printdur® Powderfort (\~1.2709) is a precipitation-hardening tool steel with mechanical properties comparable to traditional 1.2709, but without titanium and aluminum elements. This material stands out for its high hardness of about 52 HRC after heat treatment and its good processability with LPBF technologies, making it ideal for components requiring high performance under mechanical stress.

Advantages in Industrial Use

Thanks to its high yield strength and tensile strength combined with good toughness, Printdur® Powderfort proves to be an optimal choice for producing components subjected to intense mechanical stresses, finding applications in sectors such as automotive and advanced mechanical engineering.

Technical Characteristics of Printdur® Powderfort Powder

Printdur® Powderfort powder is produced through gas atomization, ensuring spherical particles with excellent flow properties, crucial for success in additive manufacturing processes.

Processability and Mechanical Properties

Printdur® Powderfort is suitable for processing with Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) systems, delivering consistent and high-quality results thanks to optimized settings similar to those of 1.2709.
